Popular birding author Giff Beaton will untangle the “Mysteries of Bird Migration. " those feats of endurance and navigation of even tiny songbirds, such as Ruby-throated Hummingbirds who flew 650 miles nonstop across the Gulf of Mexico to your yard!

Full time Delta Pilot and part time nature photographer and naturalist, Beaton is the author or co-author of five books on Georgia birds beginning with Birding Georgia; A Guide to the Best Birding Sites in Georgia published in 2000. "Always trying to learn more and see more"  his interest in Odonates led to the publication of Dragonflies and Damselflies of Georgia and the Southeast in 2007. His latest book is The Breeding Bird Atlas of Georgia with Todd Schneider, Tim Keyes, and Nathan Klaus published in 2010.

This will be an outdoor event on the covered upper deck of the Chattahoochee River Environmental Education Center. 

To find the entrance to CREEC, from the intersection of Holcomb Bridge Road and Barnwell Road, go north on Barnwell.  The driveway is on the East side past Rivermont Park and just before River Glen subdivision.  Please register for the event on chattahoocheeparks.org.
