Join us for this unique opportunity to participate in preparing the garden beds for all new native plants around Hewlett Lodge!
There are 5 beds that total about 1,500 square feet that need to be prepped. The large boxy shrubs will already be gone, but some roots will remain that need to be removed. The work will be accomplished over several days. Sign up for one or more days.
TASKS WILL INCLUDE:
Removing roots,
turning the soil,
getting new soil and compost to the sites with a wheelbarrow,
adding soil,
daily cleanup
Registration is required
Need: Able-bodied people, willing to do the the laborious tasks of prepping garden beds, including pulling existing plants, digging and excavating root systems, digging holes and moving lots of dirt.
Location: Outside the Visitor Center of the Island Ford unit of CRNRA (8800 Roberts Drive, Sandy Springs, GA 30350). There are parking spots available just outside the garden area, near the Visitor Center.
CRNRA requires a $5 daily parking fee or the purchase of a $40 annual pass.
Tools, gloves and water will be provided.

This event will take place rain or shine, however it will be rescheduled in the event of severe weather including thunderstorms or flood warnings. Participants will be notified by email the morning of the event (or sooner) should an event need to be rescheduled due to weather.
