Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, December 2021

Vision: It is our vision that Chattahoochee River NRA continues developing as a vibrant community based national park that fosters multiple opportunities within the scenic river corridor to pursue outdoor recreation, connect with nature and discover history.

Mission: To support our programs and the NPS mission by working closely with each other to reach the best decisions for the entire park.

It is our goal...

...that the park has a strong management team that continually strives for success, possesses competence, leads by example, demonstrates integrity, works collaboratively and values contributions. The team communicates frequently, both within the team and with staff, to enhance transparency and understanding.

...the entire park staff is a high functioning team that is supported by management and supervisors, and all employees feel valued and empowered to share their ideas and concerns through appropriate mechanisms. Park staff have buy-in or at least understanding of park policies, goals, workplans and decisions. Management equips staff to excel by providing education and equipment to staff to help with their current job and growth within the NPS.

...that we provide a safe environment for employees and park visitors through an evolving and strong safety program. Safety is the upmost priority that we support through park safety programs, safety awareness, educational efforts, employee involvement and law enforcement.

...the park's goals and plans align with the park legislation, purpose and significance and the NPS mission. Business operations and other programs are consistent and accountable. Programs and decisions are constantly reviewed; the park is not tied to how we have always done it. The park encourages our partner organizations and neighbors to align with us in our work to protect the park and its resources and make them relevant to current and future generations.

...the park staff and visitation reflect the diversity of the Atlanta region. The work environment and visitor experience are welcoming and inclusive. Everyone feels valued within a culture of courage where everyone feels welcome to share their ideas and viewpoints.

...that the park provides opportunities for visitor use and enjoyment through visits both within the park and virtual. We continually strive to maintain or increase visitor enjoyment of, and connection to, our stories, resources and places. Each visitor is another partner in our effort to enhance stewardship of our resources.

...that the residents of the Atlanta region are aware of Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and that it is a unit of the National Park Service.

...that Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy is a thriving Friends group that supports the park through successful fundraising and sponsorships to host programs, fund park improvements and increase volunteerism. These actions increase CRNRA awareness and support of the park through CNPC.

...to develop strategic partnerships to advance the park's mission and vision that result in great community connections, joint projects and financial support. These decisions focus on specific reasons and results that benefit the park and are not directed by the partners.

Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are proud to support our Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, a unit of the national park system managed by the National Park Service.
