Since 2012, Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy (CNPC) has been the official friends group and primary philanthropic partner of CRNRA. We are the only nonprofit that exists solely to support this national park.
CRNRA is a vital part of our community and one of the top 30 most visited national parks in the country, attracting over 3 million visitors annually. Despite its popularity and the critical role it plays in providing outdoor recreation, education, and wildlife habitat, CRNRA faces significant challenges due to insufficient funding.
Each year, Congress sets the budget for the National Park Service through the appropriations process, and unfortunately, CRNRA often doesn't receive an adequate budget to support the $10+ millions of dollars in deferred maintenance the park has and continues to grow. Additional funds to CRNRA would help address vital projects such as trail maintenance, park improvements, educational programming, and more. That’s why the Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy (CNPC) exists - to fill the gaps. We work alongside the National Park Service to raise funds and rally volunteers to ensure the park remains a safe, beautiful space for everyone to enjoy.
Your support matters. By giving to CNPC, you’re helping preserve and support the park for future generations. Every donation goes directly toward improving CRNRA and enhancing the park experience for millions of visitors. Together, we can preserve this incredible resource that so many rely on for recreation, relaxation, and connection with nature.
Celebrate the life of a loved one or honor someone special by making a donation in their memory or in their honor. These gifts can be a meaningful way to pay tribute while helping preserve the park for future generations. CNPC will notify the person or family being honored with a special acknowledgment (without disclosing the gift amount).
To make this kind of gift, view our donation form and select, "Dedicate my donation in honor or in memory of someone."
A gift through your will or trust is a powerful way to leave a legacy that supports CNPC’s mission long into the future. Whether you designate a specific amount or a percentage of your estate, your planned gift can help secure the future of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area.
Donating appreciated stocks or securities can be a highly effective way to contribute to CNPC while benefiting from potential tax advantages. By gifting stocks, you may avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciated value, making it a smart choice for both you and the park. To make a stock gift, please contact us for details on how to transfer your securities.
A gift directly from your IRA, 401(k), or other retirement accounts can be a tax-efficient way to support CNPC. Donors aged 70½ and older may make tax-free transfers from their IRAs to CNPC, up to $100,000 per year. This type of gift may also count toward your required minimum distribution (RMD). Please contact your plan administrator or us for more information.
A charitable trust, such as a charitable remainder trust (CRT) or charitable lead trust (CLT), allows you to make a gift to CNPC while receiving income for yourself or a loved one. These trusts provide flexibility, tax benefits, and the opportunity to support the park in a meaningful way. We encourage you to consult with an attorney or financial advisor to explore this option.
Many employers offer matching gift programs that can double or even triple the impact of your donation. If your company participates in matching gifts, simply submit the appropriate form, and CNPC will work with your employer to maximize your contribution. Additionally, some companies offer corporate volunteer grants, where donations are made based on the number of hours you volunteer. Check with your employer to see if they have these programs in place.
No matter how you choose to give, your contribution supports the critical work we do to preserve and enhance the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. Thank you for being a part of our mission and helping to safeguard this treasured landscape for generations to come.
