Paddle the Park 2025
Join us for a guided paddle series in partnership with Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC)! Whether you’re a seasoned paddler or brand new to the river, this is your chance to experience the beauty of the Chattahoochee from a whole new perspective. Each trip highlights a different stretch of the river, from peaceful flatwater floats to gentle rapids—all led by expert NOC guides.
All gear is provided, and spots fill quickly—don’t miss this opportunity to Paddle the Park!
Schedule
- Saturday, May 17 – Powers Island to Paces Mill: An iconic section through the Palisades with scenic rock formations (8 miles, mostly flatwater with class I-II shoals).
- Friday, June 13 – Morgan Falls to Powers Island (registration link coming soon!): A calm, beginner-friendly paddle through forested riverbanks and open water views (6 miles, mostly flatwater with class I shoals).
- Friday, June 27 – Garrard Landing to Don White (registration link coming soon!): One of our most popular stretches — easy paddling with rich wildlife sightings (3 miles, flatwater).
- Friday, July 11 – Medlock Bridge to Gerrard Landing (registration link coming soon!): A peaceful float through the heart of the river corridor (4.5 miles, flatwater).
- Friday, August 1 – Abbotts Bridge to Medlock Bridge (registration link coming soon!): A mellow cruise past shaded banks and quiet coves (4 miles, flatwater).
- Friday, August 22 – McGinnis Ferry to Abbotts Bridge (registration link coming soon!): A lively stretch featuring near the northernmost stretch of the park (5 miles).

Purchase a Park Pass
A park pass is required for all visitors in all units of CRNRA. 80% of all fees collected help fund critical projects that improve services and protect resources in the park. Daily passes ($5), annual passes ($40), or annual senior passes ($20) are available for purchase online through NPS.
