The evening will feature hors d'oeuvres and cash bar, followed by a sit-down program where we’ll reflect on the incredible work we’ve accomplished so far, hear from guest speakers, and honor those who have made a profound impact on the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area with the prestigious Hightower Award. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction, a raffle, and more - all in the spirit of preserving the park that has brought us all so much joy!

2025 Hightower Award:

President jimmy Carter

Each year, the Hightower Award is presented to an individual whose efforts and dedication have had a lasting and positive impact on Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and its community. This year, we are honored to present the Hightower Award to President Jimmy Carter—a leader, visionary, and steadfast advocate for public lands. His efforts were instrumental in establishing CRNRA, ensuring that the Chattahoochee River and its surrounding lands would be protected for generations to come. Beyond this, his lifelong dedication to environmental stewardship and conservation has left an enduring legacy that continues to inspire.


With his passing in December 2024, there is no one more fitting to receive this tribute. On March 25th, we'll gather to celebrate his remarkable contributions, reflect on his legacy, and carry forward the work he helped begin.
