Description: Join the National Park Service for a wonderful live owl program presented in the upper Choestoe Meadow of the Chattahoochee River Environmental Education Center. Enjoy the crisp winter air while you enjoy the nocturnal sights and sounds of the meadow and forest.
Discover new facts about the wildlife of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and their nocturnal habits. There live owl program will be presented by Chattahoochee Nature Center Naturalists. Receive a complimentary Chattahoochee River Journal with wildlife lists and paw prints.
Join us and enjoy the owls, the ambiance, and the nighttime beauty of the Chattahoochee. You are welcome to come early and bring a picnic dinner. Walk the Three Forks Creek Loop Trail and check out the interesting owl facts signs along the way. The program is in partnership with the Chattahoochee National Parks Conservancy and the Chattahoochee Nature Center. Facilities: Located in the Center’s Lodge. Due to the pandemic, there will be a one way traffic flow through the Lodge, a limit of four persons in the lodge at a time, and masks are required in all Federal buildings.
Bring: Dress for the weather Dress warmly and in layers so that you can adjust to changes in the temperature or activity level. You might want to bring water, a thermos with a warm drink, and snacks. A flashlight is a good idea.
