SEPTEMBER COMMUNITY HIKE

BOWMANS ISLAND
Our September hike is 4.5 – 5.5 miles and includes several steep, strenuous uphill climbs and rocky sections. Our moderate hike climbs up and down the ridges. This hike covers all trails in the northern part of the Bowman’s Island unit for the HikeCRNRA challenge. https://www.chattahoocheeparks.org/hikecrnra

There are restrooms at the second parking lot.

Lower Pool Road parking lot
Just north of Buford Dam, turn off Buford Dam Road onto Lower Pool Road. There is a power transfer station at the turn. At the bottom of the hill there are two parking lots. CRNRA is the first parking lot.

This event will take place rain or shine, however it will be rescheduled in the event of severe weather including thunderstorms or flood warnings. Participants will be notified by email the morning of the event (or sooner) should an event need to be rescheduled due to weather.

By signing up for an event, trip, workshop, or attending a field trip sponsored by Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy, I acknowledge that these activities can be hazardous and that I could be injured. I warrant that I am physically fit and able to participate without undue risk. In addition, I grant Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy, as well as their representatives and employees, the right to take photographs of me and my property during the program and I authorize Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy to use and publish the same in print and/or electronically. I agree that Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy may use such photographs of me with or without my name and for any lawful purpose, including, for example, social media, publicity, illustration, advertising, and web content. This agreement is subject to the laws of the State of Georgia, and I agree that any lawsuit arising from my participation may be brought only in the courts located in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
