International Observe the Moon Night

Drop-In Crafts at 7:00 pm
Program 7:30 – 9:30 pm

International Observe the Moon Night unites people across the globe in a celebration of lunar observation, science, and exploration. Use telescopes and binoculars to view the mountains, valleys, cracks formed by lava, and crater chains of the moon. Pay homage to our constant companion in the night sky and get to know its vast plains: the Sea of Cold, the Sea of Crises, the Sea of Tranquility.

Come join astronomers, neighbors, and new friends for storytelling, crafts, a campfire, and viewing our friend the moon - on the same night as fellow earthlings around the world!

Bring marshmallows if you want to roast them over the campfire.

Location: Chattahoochee River Environmental Education Center, 8615 Barnwell Road, Johns Creek, Georgia, 30022

Parking is limited and carpooling is encouraged.

Facilities: Located in the Center’s Lodge.

This event will take place rain or shine, however it will be rescheduled in the event of severe weather including thunderstorms or flood warnings. Participants will be notified by email the morning of the event (or sooner) should an event need to be rescheduled due to weather.
